Bluegrass Underground Announces PBS Taping Lineup

Steep Canyon RangersMcMinnville, TN -- The fourth season of PBS' Emmy-winning Bluegrass Underground series - the best looking and sounding music on television - will feature some of the biggest names in bluegrass, Americana, roots-rock and the cutting edges of acoustic music. But you don't have to wait for it to come to your TV. Expanded to four days, the marathon video shoot is scheduled for March 7-9, 2014, in the Volcano Room of Cumberland Caverns in McMinnville, Tenn., with tickets going on sale soon at www.bluegrassunderground.com.

Bluegrass Underground Episodes Begin Airing on PBS This Week

Alison Brown and Michael Doucet(Nashville, TN) October 23, 2013 - Cajun supergroup BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet and GRAMMY-winning banjoist Alison Brown will be featured on their own respective episodes of PBS’ music adventure series Bluegrass Underground nationwide starting this week. Back in March, both groups performed live at Bluegrass Underground, 333-feet underground in the Volcano Room of the Cumberland Caverns in McMinnville, TN. Each performance of that live show, which that day also included artists Leon Russell and Ben Sollee, was taped as an episode for PBS broadcast this October, as well as broadcast Saturday nights on the Legend 650 WSM Radio.

SteelDrivers to Kick Off Bluegrass Undergrounds PBS Season

The SteelDriversThe three time Grammy nominated bluegrass-meets-soul band, The SteelDrivers, return to the stage of the highly acclaimed Bluegrass Underground to help kick off the program's 3rd PBS Season. Filmed at Cumberland Caverns in McMinnville, Tennessee, Bluegrass Underground is also a radio show. Recorded live 333 feet below ground, the Volcano Room is one of the most acoustically pure natural spaces on earth. No man-made sound reaches the Volcano Room and the living rock hued amid the eons is jagged and uneven, providing limited echo.

Acclaimed Bluegrass Underground Wins Emmy Award

The honorees were announced January 26th in a ceremony at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, TN. Bluegrass Underground is a live concert and radio show held inside the Volcano Room -- an amphitheater 333 feet underground, one of the most acoustically pure natural spaces on or under the earth.

Free Bluegrass Concert Sunday, 9/23 to Kick Off World of Bluegrass Week

TNDV Provides HD Mobile Production Services for PBS Program Bluegrass Underground
