Steep Canyon Rangers’ “Nobody Knows You” Wins Best Bluegrass Album

Steep Canyon RangersLos Angeles, CA -- Nobody Knows You from Bluegrass music sensation Steep Canyon Rangers was named Best Bluegrass Album at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, held Feb. 10 in Los Angeles. This is the band’s first Grammy win and second nomination. They were nominated in the same category at the 2012 ceremony for their album Rare Bird Alert, a collaboration with comedy icon Steve Martin.

I once predicted that The Steep Canyon Rangers, by the time their members were thirty, would be well-known far and wide for their brilliant performances and excellent recordings. Now, this tight unit from western North Carolina could be one of the most recognizable bands in bluegrass today. Besides having talent and youthful appeal, their familiarity was definitely boosted by being comedian, actor, and musician Steve Martin's backup band.
