Dailey & Vincent Landfest In The Mountains Sept 14-16

Dailey & VincentHiawassee, GA -- Award-winning super duo Dailey & Vincent are pulling out all the stops in 2017. They continue this prodigious trend with the relocation of their 5th annual music festival, Dailey & Vincent LandFest, presented by Springer Mountain Farms. As part of their Diamond Celebration, their 3-day festival bringing the very best in American music, will move from its prior Denton, North Carolina location to the heart of the Georgia Mountains in scenic, Hiawassee, Georgia – this fall. The event has appropriately extended it’s name to; Dailey & Vincent LandFest In The Mountains, and will be held September 14-16, 2017 at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. Ticket packages range from $35.00 - $110.00 with general admission and/or reserved seating available. Fans can also stay on-site via tent or RV in one of the 189 campsites offering full hook ups and amenities.

Del McCoury to Headline Cockeysville Music Fest for Susie’s Cause

Del McCoury BandBaltimore, MD -- The Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation, Inc. (“Susie’s Cause”) is honored to present The Del McCoury Band, featuring legendary bluegrass superstar Del McCoury, at its Bluegrass-Folk Festival on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Oregon Ridge Park in Cockeysville, Maryland. This second annual event will also feature rising star singer-songwriter Sarah Jarosz, old-time bluegrass stalwarts The Seldom Scene, Mipso, The Stray Birds, Tim and Savannah Finch with the Eastman String Band, and the Ken and Brad Kolodner Quartet. All festival proceeds benefit Susie’s Cause, the Baltimore-based national nonprofit foundation dedicated to colon cancer prevention, treatment, and support services.

Del & Woody - A Review

Del and WoodyDel McCoury has put together an exciting new project, Del & Woody, comprising a dozen original lyrics of legendary folk artist Woody Guthrie that are set to music by bluegrass artist Del McCoury. The project, a brainchild of Nora Guthrie, Woody's daugher, came to completion earlier this year. Del has worked on varied and diverse projects and this would a good fit as the music has similar roots.

Festival favorites The Del McCoury Band, Indiana alt-country rockers Houndmouth, Malian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vieux Farka Touré, Boston-based trio The Ballroom Thieves, and acoustic roots band Cat and The Moon join an already-robust lineup, featuring headliner the Punch Brothers, a late-night hoedown by Leftover Salmon, Jerry Douglas presents Earls of Leicester, Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, and Aoife O’Donovan, festival favorite Alison Brown, Peter Rowan, the Lost Bayou Ramblers, Flatt Lonesome, Darol Anger’s Mr. Sun, Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem, and 2014 FreshGrass Award winners Twisted Pine and Quiles & Cloud. FreshGrass, to be held on September 18-20, 2015, features bluegrass traditionalists and trailblazers on four stages and throughout every nook and cranny of MASS MoCA’s 28-building, 16-acre campus.

This is always an exciting time for bluegrass bands and probably even more exciting for the International Bluegrass Music Association's (IBMA) Emerging Artist of the Year Della Mae. Della Mae has had an outstanding year getting recognized, nominated and awarded for top awards in music. The Grammy nomination adding to their year.

Night one of Gentlemen of the Road was one for the books with Marcus Mumford (Mumford and Sons) and Jeff Austin (Yonder Mountain String Band) sitting in for The Del McCoury Bands first set. Also sitting in for the bands set were Larry Kell, Danny Barnes and Mumford fiddler Ross Holmes. Proof again that you never know who is going to show up when Del plays!

Jimmy Jam Benefit Tonight on Music City Roots Live-Stream

Jim VanCleveBluegrass music artist Jim VanCleve, founding member of Mountain Heart (fiddle), contracted Dengue Fever from mosquito bites he got from a recent trip to St. Croix back in March. The near fatal experience resulted in Jim being hospitalized for days. Now, he is suffering from the huge medical expenses as a result of that infection. Tonight, Music City Roots will live-stream Jimmy Jam, a live benefit to help Jim and his family with those expenses.
