Deer Creek Boys Join Mountain Fever Records

Deer Creek BoysWhile attending SPBGMA in Nashville last week, Mountain Fever Records had the great pleasure of signing the Deer Creek Boys to their roster! This great band formed in 1999 when two brothers and a childhood friend starting picking and writing together in Amherst County, Virginia. But the past few years have seen them inactive with original members Justin Tomlin spending a few years playing guitar for Nothin Fancy, and his brother Jason on bass with Junior Sisk.

Single Released From Upcoming Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice Album

Nothin' Fancy is the 6-time winner of SPBGMA's Entertaining Group of the Year, a fan voted award, and have successfully hosted the Nothin’ Fancy Bluegrass Festival since 2001 in Buena Vista, Virginia, making it one of the most popular outdoor festivals in bluegrass.

Fiddler Jamie Harper Releases "Old Pal"

Jamie Harper - Old PalWillis, VA -- Mountain Fever Records is proud to announce the release of a stellar new album from fiddler, Jamie Harper. Old Pal is available to radio and consumers today with his first single, "To Fly," already receiving airplay across the country! Joining Harper on Old Pal are fellow Ramblers Choice band members, Jason Davis (banjo), and Kameron Keller (bass), as well as Keith McKinnon of IIIrd Tyme Out (guitar), Quicksilver's Kevin McKinnon (mandolin) and Josh Swift (dobro). This band of like-minded young men are accompanied by several guest vocalists including Dustin Pyrtle and Eli Johnston, both Quicksilver band members, and accomplished singer-songwriter, Daniel Salyer. Also making appearances on the album are Marty Raybon and Junior Sisk, making for a perfect musical blend across the generations. The guest vocalists are a superb addition throughout the project, but Harper himself shines on several songs including a rousing and spot-on version of Bill Monroe's "Goodbye Old Pal."

What started out as two impressive solo careers has morphed into what is already being described as a powerhouse team of vocals and songwriting. Hammertowne Releases "Broken Heart Mended" to Radio

Hammertowne BandWillis, VA -- Mountain Fever Records announced the release of new music from Hammertowne. "Broken Heart Mended" has been released to radio for airplay. Hammertowne is a five piece ensemble consisting of Dave Carroll on guitar and vocals; Brent Pack on banjo; Scott Tackett on guitar and vocals; Chaston Carroll on mandolin and vocals; and Bryan Russell on bass and vocals; hailing from the traditional bluegrass hotbed of Eastern Kentucky. The camaraderie among these musicians was undeniable when they gathered in a studio as session musicians on a solo project in late 2011.
