Documentary on Country Music Birthplace at Musical Fundraiser on September 30th in Bristol

Echoes of the Blue RidgeBristol, TN/VA- The Appalachian Cultural Music Association (ACMA) will release a documentary, Echoes of The Blue Ridge, to the public on Sunday, September 30th at 3:00 pm at the ACMA Pickin’ Porch located on the upper level of the Bristol Mall in Bristol, Virginia. There will be plenty of live bluegrass and old time music at the event to celebrate the project’s release. The documentary is of the music and the Blue Ridge Mountain region of Appalachia.

Charlie Peters to be honored at ACMA Mountain Music Museum

Charlie Peters, Dana and Carl MooreThe Appalachian Cultural Music Association and the Mountain Music Museum invite the public and fans of Appalachian Music to attend a press conference and unveiling of the Charlie Peters exhibit on Thursday, April 12th at 2:00 pm at the Mountain Music Museum which is located on the upper level of the Bristol Mall in Bristol, Virginia. Peters is known for getting Bristol recognized as the "Birthplace of Country Music."

ACMA Presents Leon Kiser Memorial Tribute Show Saturday, Feb 25

Leon KiserBristol, TN/VA -- The 16th Annual Leon Kiser Memorial Tribute Show will honor Emily Spencer, The McPeak Brothers, Stoneman Family, Vanover Sisters, and Harry Esenwine for their contributions to Bluegrass music. Enjoy music from White Top Mountain, The McPeak Brothers, The Stonemans, Breaking Tradition, Lightnin' Charlie, ETSU Bluegrass and Old Time Bands, and many others. The Appalachian Cultural Music Association (ACMA) will present their annual memorial concert at the Paramount Theatre in Bristol, Tennessee on Saturday, February 25th. The concert is named in memory of the late Leon Kiser who was bandleader of his group the Holston Mountain Boys for over thirty years. Kiser was also a local legend who not only performed bluegrass music but also was a promoter of the music as well in the regions of East Tennessee and Southwestern Virginia. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the ETSU Bluegrass, Old Time, and Country Music Scholarship Fund. Tickets $15 Reserved.

Larry Sparks Exhibit and Concert this Saturday at ACMA Museum in Bristol

Larry SparksBristol, TN/VA -- Larry Sparks and the Lonesome Ramblers will be in Bristol, Virginia this Saturday, October 15th for Larry Sparks Day at the Appalachian Cultural Music Association (ACMA)'s Mountain Music Museum and Pickin Porch at the Bristol Mall. "We are very proud to be unveiling the Larry Sparks Exhibit at the Mountain Music Museum this Saturday" states John Necessary the Appalachian Cultural Music Association's president. "Larry is a legend in bluegrass music and is most deserving of this exhibit in our museum".
