5th Carolina Music Awards Nominees Announced

Nu-BluRaleigh, NC - The Fifth Anniversary of the Carolina Music Awards is shaping up to be a very special event for organizers and nominees. The Carolina Music Awards will be held at the Progress Energy Center’s Fletcher Opera Theatre on July 15. Voting closed yesterday, July 6 so now, we wait for the votes to be counted and tabulated to see who gets the trophy. Bluegrass music is represented in the Americana/Bluegrass and Videos categories.

Historic Jonesborough Bluegrass Series Presents Double Header Concert

Produced by Mountain Music Entertainment and nestled in Tennessee's oldest town, the Historic Jonesborough Bluegrass Series was recently awarded the NETTA Pinnacle Award.

Balsam Range Gives Back Through All-Star Concert Series

Balsam Range participates in 50+ fundraisers each year, raising thousands of dollars for organizations in their surrounding communities. Marc plays banjo with Balsam Range, the critically-acclaimed band from Western North Carolina which is nominated for Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Emerging Artist at this year's IBMA. (As Marc wrote on the band's website, "I can understand 'song' and 'album'…but Shootfirebuddy, I feel like I've been emerging now since 1962!!!") Balsam Range just won the IBMA International Bluegrass Music Award for Song of the Year for "Trains I Missed."
