Country Gent Bill Yates has Died

Bill YatesOne of bluegrass music's favorite artists, Bill Yates, 78, passed away yesterday after being hospitalized earlier. One says a bulb burns brightest before it goes out and this was the casee with Bill Yates. After being hospitalized for bleeding on the brain, it looked yesterday that his condition was improving. That prognosis did not continue and he passed away Monday. Yates had performed with the Father of Bluegrass music, Bill Monroe and the King of Bluegrass, Jimmy Martin.

Bill Yates and the Country Gentlemen Tribute BandThe Bill Yates & the Country Gentlemen Tribute Band will be performing at the Lucketts Bluegrass Concert Series, being held back in the Old (recently renovated) Lucketts Schoolhouse located at 42361 Lucketts Road, Leesburg, VA 20176 which on Sat., March 23, 2013. It's going to be great getting back into this historic building which has housed so many great bluegrass over the years and plans on continuing on for many more years to come.

Bill Yates and the Country Gentlemen Tribute BandBluegrass music group Bill Yates & the Country Gentlemen Tribute Band will be performing at the Lucketts Bluegrass Concert Series, being held at the Lucketts Elementary School which is located adjacent to the community center on U.S. Route 15 at 14550 James Monroe Highway, Leesburg, VA 20176 on Sat., Feb. 25, 2012 (the Series is being held here while the "Old Schoolhouse" is again being renovated). Show admission is $15.00 at the door. Show time is 7 PM and doors open at 6 PM. Remember, the community center is a smoke free and alcohol free environment. Light food will be available for purchase.

Bill Yates and the Country Gentlemen Tribute BandBill Yates and the Country Gentlemen Tribute Band are planning to work up some gospel tunes and will be recording some that were never done by the Country Gentlemen. They plan to be working on this project this winter.

Song of the Mountains Hosts Bill Yates and the Country Gentlemen Tribute Band

Bill Yates and the Country Gentlemen Tribute BandMarion, VA- Song of the Mountains will tape another episode of the award winning concert series aired across America on Saturday, October 1st at the Lincoln Theatre. Headlining the concert will be the legendary Bill Yates and the Country Gentlemen Tribute Band.
