44th Telluride Bluegrass Fest Initial Lineup Announced

This year's lineup will once again be led by "The King of Telluride" Sam Bush for the 43rd year, and the only appearance of the incomparable Telluride House Band.

Punch Brothers Lead Alternate Root Top-50 2015 Albums (So Far)

Punch BrothersSix months into 2015. Musically, the sound has been coming in with quantity and quality neck and neck in the submission process. We have curated our picks for the Top 50 album of the year....so far. As always, the toughest part of the task was the decision. This list could have easily been 75 artists, and a hundred would not have been a stretch. Half of 2015 is in the rear view mirror but the soundtrack soundtrack is still playing out the car window as we roll down the highway.

The Ellnora Guitar Festival Unveils 2015 Artist Lineup

Situated in a vibrant micro-urban setting, the internationally recognized, biennial event features, “a prodigious array of the world’s most distinctive and influential guitarists” (Premier Guitar) from around the globe, including for 2015 artists rooted in Mali, Australia, China, Spain, Palestine, India, Mexico, and from throughout the United States. 2015 performing artists include Punch Brothers, Bela and Abigail Fleck, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage and outstanding artists from almost all genres. This is the festival of the guitar.

FreshGrass Announces Initial Lineup Artists for 2015

Punch BrothersNorth Adams, MA -- FreshGrass, Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art’s (MASS MoCA) 3-day bluegrass and roots music festival, announces the first round of bands set to play its annual September festival, with headliner the Punch Brothers, a late-night hoedown by Leftover Salmon, Jerry Douglas presents Earls of Leicester, I’m With Her featuring Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, and Aoife O’Donovan, festival favorite Alison Brown, Peter Rowan, the Lost Bayou Ramblers, Flatt Lonesome, Darol Anger’s Mr. Sun, Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem, and 2014 FreshGrass Award winners Twisted Pine and Quiles & Cloud. FreshGrass, to be held on September 18-20, 2015, features bluegrass traditionalists and trailblazers on four stages and throughout every nook and cranny of its 28-building, 16-acre campus.

Punch BrothersNonesuch releases Punch Brothers’ T Bone Burnett–produced The Phosphorescent Blues on January 27, 2015. In celebration of the album, the band embarks on a 23-city North American tour, kicking off at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC on February 20 and continuing through mid-April; details below. (Chris Thile will also be special guest host of A Prairie Home Companion, sitting in for Garrison Keillor, on February 7, at which Punch Brothers perform, and February 14.) BMI Announces Excellent Austin City Limits Festival Lineup
