Learn About Song Choices for James Reams' “Rhyme & Season”

Behind The SongsAfter finishing his college degree, James decided that the Big Apple was the place to be if he wanted to make it in the music business. So he hopped on a Greyhound bus with 2 cardboard boxes and headed off to NYC. Once there, he was immediately drawn to the music scene at Greenwich Village. Fortunately, he was taken under the wing of Tom Paley from the New Lost City Ramblers and even cut an album with the legendary performer.

Dreams Do Come True - Envisioning the Future of Bluegrass

James ReamsBy James Reams
As a former teacher, I’ve focused my desire to share knowledge, encourage potential, and motivate people on my first passion – bluegrass music. I’ve received so much through my association with the bluegrass industry and am always looking for ways to give back, to help promote the music that I grew up with and love. I see bluegrass music as a means to bring people together and an opportunity to span generational as well as cultural gaps.

James Reams' "Rhyme & Season" is Now in Production

Rhyme & SeasonJames Reams made an exciting announcement in his latest newsletter. "The release date is March 29th!! Sometimes I forget just how hard it is to release a new album. It’s kinda like childbirth, the joy of seeing the new project in your hands makes you forget about the long months of labor to get to that point! Just take a look and listen to the “Making of Rhyme & Season” video and you’ll get a taste for what it takes to make an album as well as a nice little appetizer of the album itself. Selecting the songs, writing new material, creating new arrangements, countless hours of practice, interviews, press releases, filming videos, graphic design, recording, mixing, production and finally distribution…it can really take a toll on a feller (and his pocketbook!). But you couldn’t find a prouder “papa” than I am about my latest CD, Rhyme & Season, which will be available on CDBaby, Amazon and other online sources on March 29th."

The album, called “Rhyme & Season,” will contain songs that commemorate the resilience of the human spirit, especially those who are faced with homelessness. After experiencing a period of being homeless as a young man, James hopes that putting these songs together on one album will not only celebrate the wandering soul that lives in all of us, but also help raise awareness about specific issues that those living on the streets are faced with on a daily basis.

New Album from James Reams & The Barnstormers Coming Soon!

Rhyme & SeasonAs James pulled together the material for the new album, he knew that this project needed to focus on something other than songs about the hills and hollers or honky tonks. It needed to be personal and meaningful on a whole new level. He felt compelled to describe a journey that had no rhyme or reason, one that reflected the many seasons of life. “Rhyme & Season” touches on topics that affect so many in this great country – those who have chosen the nomadic life and others who were left with no choice.
