27th International Bluegrass Music Award Winners

The Earls of LeicesterThe International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) was held Thursday and the winners were announced during the annual Awards Show. The 2016 Awards Show was held Thursday, September 29 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, Memorial Hall in the Oak City, lovely Raleigh, NC. Sierra Hull and Dan Tyminski hosted the gala event.

The Earls of Leicester Added to Huck Finn Jubilee Lineup

Jerry Douglas presents the Earls of LeicesterProducers of the Huck Finn Jubilee Bluegrass Music Festival, the Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau, has announced the addition of Jerry Douglas presents the Earls of Leicester to the Friday, June 10 line up. Hot off the stage at Stagecoach, The Earls of Leicester are a bluegrass group. Their self-titled debut album earned the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album. Leicester is pronounced as if it were spelled Lester. Some of the greatest national headlining bluegrass names will be on stage for the 3-day event. Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park in Ontario will be the site for this annual event June 10 through 12, 2016 when thousands of bluegrass fans arrive to experience a family friendly festival that celebrates traditional Bluegrass music, education, activities, and the evolution of bluegrass music.

The Earls of Leicester Unveil "Rattle & Roar," Due July 15

Rattle & RoarNashville, TN - The Earls of Leicester, the award-winning, acclaimed sextet that comprises some of the finest musicians in bluegrass, will release their second album, Rattle & Roar, July 15 on Rounder Records. Rattle & Roar is the follow-up to the Earls' eponymous debut, which inspired tremendous critical accolades, and earned a Grammy award for Best Bluegrass Album. The band also went on to win six International Bluegrass Music Association awards, including the coveted Album of the Year and Entertainer of the Year honors.

IBMA Awards LogoRaleigh, NC -- Bluegrass music’s finest were honored last evening at the 26th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards, handed out in front of full house at the Duke Energy Center in Raleigh, N.C. The Earls of Leicester swept with four wins: Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, Instrumental Group of the Year, and Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year. Add to that Earls of Leicester member Jerry Douglas’ win for Dobro Player of the Year and Earls member Shawn Camp’s Male Vocalist of the Year win; a good night indeed for the five-piece band.

2015 26th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards

During the week, the IBMA elected new board members, assigned a new chairman to the board and many mentoring and educational sessions also took place. It is, however, the Awards Show that brings the entire bluegrass community together for the season's Grand Finale. This year was certainly no exception. The Earls of Leicester were the Earls of Raleigh last night. Capturing the coveted Entertainer of the Year, the group also won the trophy for Instrumental Group of the Year and Album of the Year.

Earls of Leicester Capture Best Bluegrass Album Grammy Award

 Earls of LeicesterThe 57th Grammy Awards was held Sunday evening and this year, competition for the Best Bluegrass Album was a group of five albums that all deserved the award. This year's nominees were all outstanding albums compared to some previous years. The Best Bluegrass Album was awarded to The Earls Of Leicester by The Earls Of Leicester. The album won over Noam Pikelny Plays Kenny Baker Plays Bill Monroe by Noam Pikelny, Cold Spell by Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, Into My Own by Bryan Sutton, and Only Me by Rhonda Vincent.
