New Coon Creek Girls Performing Feb. 27th at Stage 123

New Coon Creek GirlsThe WoodSongs Dalton 2016 Concert Series will host the New Coon Creek Girls, a Kentucky based bluegrass band, and singer-songwriter Kathy Reed at 7 pm on Saturday, February 27 at Stage 123 in downtown Dalton, Georgia. The New Coon Creek Girls were formed in 1979 by John Lair, the founder of the radio program The Renfro Valley Barn Dance, with the intention of carrying on the traditional music that was played by the original "Coon Creek Girls" on his famous program from 1930's-1960s. It didn't take long for Mr. Lair to see that the New Coon Creek Girls' talents would take them far beyond the walls of Renfro Valley.
