Inspirational Bluegrass Music Artist Nominations Announced

Ricky SkaggsBluegrass music artists Bruce & Betsty Mullen, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Rhonda Vincent, Ricky Skaggs and The Roys are all nominated for this year's Inspirational Bluegrass Artist in the Inspirational Country Music Association's Awards for 2013. Ricky Skaggs is also a finalist in the Musician along with super picker Vince Gill. The Roys are also up for a second category in the Vocal Duo area. Bluegrass and Gospel favorite Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver are also nominated for the Vocal Group or Band award.

Sunday evening, the awards ceremony took place to the delight of all those attending. SPBGMA is a regular favorite events for bluegrass fans and artists alike. The awards are especially important because, unlike the IBMA, the votes for these awards come primarily from the fans and not professionals in the industry. The list of nominations includes the entire spectrum of bluegrass music artists.

The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) is a regular favorite for bluegrass fans and artists. The Midwest Convention and Awards are the last SPBGMA event prior to the National Convention which will be held in Nashville, Tennessee from January 31st through February 3, 2013. The winners of the Midweest Awards are listed below.

2012 SPBGMA National Bluegrass Music Award Winners

Jamie DaileyThe Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) held their 29th National Convention and the 38th Anniversary Bluegrass Music Awards February 2-5, 2012. The four-day event was held at the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. The awards were posted by SPBGMA yesterday evening. The awards are the big item of the convention and we have the winners listed below. Jamie Dailey, pictured, took home the 2012 Entertainer of the Year honors.
