20th Anniversary Mountain Heritage Festival Sept. 20

Loose StringsIn celebration of our 20th anniversary of the Mountain Heritage Festival, this year, more bands will grace the stage. Four local bands and the Junior Appalachian Musicians will take the stage on September 20 beginning at 10am. Loose Strings, an all-female group, from Galax, VA is known for their tight vocal harmonies and sweet rhythms.

SteelDrivers to Perform on Song of the Mountains

The SteelDriversMarion, VA -- The SteelDrivers will bring their popular style of bluegrass music to the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Virginia on Saturday, March 1st. The band will tape a one hour concert for the award winning public television concert series Song of the Mountains. This will be the SteelDrivers’ second appearance on the show and this promises to be another great season for the syndicated program which airs across the United States on over 190 public television outlets. The SteelDrivers will be joined at the Song of the Mountains taping by bluegrass artists Dale Ann Bradley, Loose Strings and Close Kin-Our Roots Run Deep.

Abingdon Crooked Road Music Fest to Feature Franklin County Performers

The Crooked Road Music FestivalAbingdon, VA -- On October 3rd-6th, 2013, Heartwood will be filled with the sounds of rich history and musical heritage of Southwest Virginia at the Abingdon Crooked Road Music Fest, an annual music festival devoted to telling the story of The Crooked Road: Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail.

Crooked Road Music Festival Presents Youth Music Concert on Oct. 4th

Loose StringsAbingdon, VA -- The Crooked Road, in partnership with the Town of Abingdon, will present a Youth Music Concert on Friday, October 4th at 6:30 p.m. at Heartwood: Southwest Virginia’s Artisan Gateway as part of the 2nd Annual Abingdon Crooked Road Music Festival. The concert will feature some of the finest youth talent in Southwest Virginia: The Loose Strings Band, Tyler Hughes, and Kitty Amaral & Friends.
