Their first album was recorded out of a rented room at San Antonio's Gunter Hotel in 1935, yet the Carter family's Chuck Wagon Gang - America's beloved gospel group - have gone on to sell forty million records over their eight decade career, and haven't stopped touring and recording. "America's Gospel Singers - The Legacy Lives On," a documentary executively produced by Marty Stuart and airing on Public Television stations this fall, chronicles the 75-year history of the Chuck Wagon Gang, sharing their stories through rare family photographs, poignant personal stories, old recordings and live performances.

SteelDrivers to Perform on Song of the Mountains

The band will tape a one hour concert for the award winning public television concert series Song of the Mountains. This will be the SteelDrivers’ second appearance on the show and this promises to be another great season for the syndicated program which airs across the United States on over 190 public television outlets. Fiddlin Carson Peters to Tape Song of the Mountains

Carson PetersMarion, VA -- Nine year old Carson Peters recently appeared on the Jay Leno Show. This young man from Piney Flats, Tennessee amazes audiences wherever he performs including Leno and the national television audience a few weeks ago. In 2008, Carson and his parents began attending Old-time and Bluegrass festivals where Carson could hear and jam with some very talented musicians as well as compete in youth fiddle competitions. His most noteworthy contest wins have taken place at the Bluegrass and Old-time Fiddlers’ Convention in Mt. Airy, NC where he has received first place in the Youth Old-time Fiddle, Bluegrass Fiddle and Youth Folk Song categories. He has also received the most promising young talent award at this festival in multiple years. Carson was also named Tennessee State Peewee Fiddle Champion for 2010 in Clarksville, Tennessee and has also won first place in the Youth Old-Time and the Youth Bluegrass Fiddle category at the famous Old Fiddlers’ Convention in Galax, Virginia.

PBS Americana Music Weekend Kicks Off

Richard ThompsonNashville, TN -- The 2012 Americana Music Honors & Awards program was honored last night with a regional Emmy Award nomination in the Special Event Program category by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The critically acclaimed Americana Honors & Awards show was filmed live at the historic Ryman Auditorium on September 12, 2012. This unique night of music and celebration honored multiple generations of artists ranging from legends such as Booker T. Jones, Bonnie Raitt, Richard Thompson and Guy Clark, favorites Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, and up-and-comers Alabama Shakes, Jason Isbell and The Civil Wars.
