IBMA Announces More Wide Open Bluegrass Performers

Wide Open Bluegrass 2014Nashville, TN -- Additional artists have been announced for the Wide Open Bluegrass festival, which takes place October 3-4 in Raleigh, North Carolina; the list includes Yonder Mountain String Band; Jerry Douglas presents The Earls of Leicester with Shawn Camp, Tim O'Brien, Johnny Warren, Charlie Cushman and Barry Bales; Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn; Balsam Range; Lonesome River Band; Chatham County Line; Noam Pikelny & Stuart Duncan; Della Mae; Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out; The Grascals; Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice; Special Consensus; Town Mountain; The Deadly Gentlemen; James King Band; Larry Stephenson Band; Mustered Courage; The Roys and The Davidson Brothers.

IBMA Announced Initial Performers, Raleigh Dates Extended

World of Bluegrass 2014Nashville, TN -- The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) has announced that the organization has extended its partnership with the city of Raleigh, North Carolina to host the World of Bluegrass convention, trade show, awards show and performances through 2018. In addition, the IBMA has announced the initial lineup of performers for the related Wide Open Bluegrass Festival that takes place during the big bluegrass event.

Alison Krauss Unable to Perform at Wide Open Bluegrass Festival

Alison KraussNashville, TN -- Performer Alison Krauss will be unable to perform, as previously announced, as part of the “epic collaboration” set planned for Friday, September 27 during IBMA’s Wide Open Bluegrass Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina, at Red Hat Amphitheater. As per the artist’s representative: “Alison Krauss was recently diagnosed with a vocal condition called dysphonia. Alison has been advised to have vocal rest, and therefore will not be performing at Wide Open Bluegrass next weekend. We anticipate a smooth, quick recovery given proper treatment and adequate rest.”

IBMA Getting Ready for Inaugural Wide Open Bluegrass Festival

Wide Open Bluegrass Festival 2013Nashville, TN -- The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) is getting ready for the newly-named Wide Open Bluegrass festival, to be held at the Raleigh, NC Convention Center and Amphitheater on September 27th and 28th. The new event to take place in the new location for World of Bluegrass promises to be exciting and the best yet. Raleigh is supporting and welcoming the IBMA to their city and they are certainly making the IBMA welcome.
