Blue Highway to Headline Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation's 20th Anniversary

Blue HighwayDestin, FL -- As part of the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation (MKAF)’s 20th Anniversary celebration, MKAF and ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals and Real Estate will present the first annual Bluegrass at the Beach one-day music festival at the MKAF Cultural Arts Village — located in the scenic coastal town of Destin on the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast — on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. This family-friendly celebration of music and culture will feature seven award-winning bluegrass bands, youth crafts and music in the Kid’s Art Village with an interactive Pickin’ & Paintin’ area, and a diverse array of food and beverage offerings.

Darrell Webb Celebrates 20 Years in Music with Dream Big

Darrell Webb BandFranklin, TN -- Darrell Webb is getting ready to celebrate 20 years in the bluegrass industry with the release of his brand new album Dream Big. The first single from the album, "More Life," penned by songwriting great Mike Reid and Rory Bourke, was released as a single several months back. Nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2013 International Bluegrass Music Awards, Webb has no plans to slow this trip down. If anything, he'll be ramping it up.

The GameBlue Highway will release their new album, The Game, on January 21, 2014. This will mark their twentieth anniversary as a working bluegrass band. During their twenty years together, Blue Highway has maintained an unusually high level of excellence in their music, consistently turning out bluegrass that’s characteristically true to the principles of the genre while remaining both memorable and original. Amazingly, the original personnel from the band (which formed in 1994) remains intact, a remarkable achievement in itself, given the frequent mixing and matching of personnel that is more the norm.

Darrell Webb Band Joins Mountain Fever Records Roster

Alison Krauss Celebrates 20th Anniversary As Grand Ole Opry Member

Alison Krauss & Jamie JohnsonNashville, TN -- /Opry.com/ The Grand Ole Opry® presented by Humana® honored Alison Krauss on her 20th anniversary as an Opry member July 3rd at the Wednesday Night Opry with performances by Alison Krauss and Union Station, bluegrass great Larry Sparks, multi-award-winner Jamey Johnson, and more. Krauss was inducted as an Opry member on July 3, 1993. When Krauss joined the Opry at 21, she brought with her the hot pickers of Union Station. Krauss became the first bluegrass artist in 29 years to be inducted and the youngest cast member at the time.
