Song of the Mountains is Virginia's New State TV Series

Song of the MountainsMarion, VA -- Virginia is for Lovers and the state loves Song of the Mountains a syndicated music television series taped in Marion and aired nation wide on PBS. The state House of Representatives and the Senate have siged a resolution making the program the state's TV Series.

‘Song of the Mountains’ Viewing Party with Kaitlyn Baker & Reagan Boggs

Reagan Boggs, Tim White, Kaitlyn BakerWaynesville, NC -- Country singers Kaitlyn Baker and Reagan Boggs will mingle with fans to raise money for a worthy cause in Waynesville, North Carolina, on Sunday, November 22. Baker and Boggs, both of whom are originally from Pound, Virginia, taped the nationally syndicated public television concert series “Song of the Mountains” last year. Their episode will premiere on the UNC-TV network throughout North Carolina on Sunday, November 22, at 6:00 p.m. It will air on PBS affiliates nationwide early in 2016.

Song of the Mountains Sale Agreement Signed

Song of the MountainsMarion, VA 17 August 2015 – On Friday, August 14, principals of The Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Virginia and Appalachian Music Heritage Foundation (AMH), a Marion-based non-profit corporation signed agreements officially transferring ownership of Song of the Mountains from The Lincoln to AMH. Under the agreement, AMH will rent The Lincoln Theatre for the Song of the Mountains monthly stage show and television production.

Appalachian Music Heritage Foundation Takes Reins of Song of the Mountains

Song of the MountainsAfter months of announcements, protests and business wrangling, it was announced last week that Tim White will return to Song of the Mountains. In addition, the new Appalachian Music Heritage Foundation will take over the Song of the Mountains concert series. The agreement and contract will split the Song of the Mountains program from the Lincoln Theatre and the rights will change hands to the new foundation. As contract and legal agreements come to a close, the Lincoln Theatre is expected to receive a $50,000 donation from the Appalachian Music Heritage Foundation as part of the negotiations. The Appalachian Music Heritage Foundation was created as a non-profit by Joe Ellis, Sam Russell and Ed Stringer, all Marion businessmen who were instrumental in the founding of Song of Mountains program.

Just to let you know briefly what has happened since the Lincoln Theatre board's "Re-organization committee" released me from my contract 3 1/2 years early...the director of the Lincoln Theatre stands pretty much all alone now.

Horse Archer Productions Leaving Song of the Mountains

Tim WhiteMarion, VA. After the recent dismissal of host, Tim White, Horse Archer expresses their disapproval through bold decision. Horse Archer Productions has announced that unless Tim White returns as host, it will fulfill its obligations with the Lincoln Theater through its contract period but will not return to Song of the Mountains in 2016.

Tim WhiteBluegrass musician and broadcast personality Tim White has lost his job as host of the nationally syndicated public television concert series “Song of the Mountains.” White said the Lincoln Theatre, which produces the program in Marion, Virginia, has canceled his contract, because of a “personality conflict” with the theatre’s new director. White said he is puzzled by the move, because he has continued to work hard to maintain the show’s high standards of quality.

Bluegrass & Old Time on March 7th Song of the Mountains

Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers along with the young Annabelle Watts will provide lots of toe tapping bluegrass and the Wayfarers along with the Hogslop String Band. Rounding out the concert will be the fantastic Americana Music of CharlyHorse from North Carolina.

Musical Heritage MuralMarion, VA - The Town of Marion is celebrating another great project. Tim White, perhaps best known as the host of Marion's nationally-syndicated television series "Song of the Mountains", has just completed a giant mural telling the community's story in paint instead of tunes on the side of Southwest Virginia's first legal moonshiner's downtown distillery and mercantile store.

Bluegrass Students Highlight Song of the Mountains Nov. 1st

East Tennessee State University Bluegrass Pride BandMarion, VA -- Two top notch Universities will send their best bluegrass students to perform on the nationally syndicated public television concert series Song of the Mountains on Saturday, November 1st at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Virginia. From Kentucky, Morehead State University’s Mountain Music Ambassadors under the direction of Raymond McLain will perform on the November 1st concert taping as will the East Tennessee State University’s Bluegrass Pride Band under the direction of Dan Boner.

Aug. 2nd Song of the Mountains Hosts Crowe Brothers, Cody Schuler

The Crowe BrothersMarion, VA -- Song of the Mountains will present another fine concert at the Lincoln Theatre on Saturday, August 2nd at 7:00 pm. The concert will be taped for national distribution across the United States for Public Television. “We are very proud that this is our tenth season of presenting our award winning concert series to the U.S.”, states Tim White the host and executive coordinator of the series. “Our new episodes that were taped last year for Season 9 just started airing on television across America and we are on track to have 24 more episodes for national distribution in 2015”, says White.

Song of the Mountains Fundraising Concert June 21, 2014

Song of the MountainsMarion, VA- Song of the Mountains will present their summer fundraising concert at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Virginia on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2:00 pm. The fundraising concert will be presented this year as a 2:00 pm matinee to allow ticket buyers and fans of the concert series to attend the concert early in the day and enjoy the restaurants and stores in Downtown Marion after the concert.

Boggs & Baker Two Girls from Pound to Perform on Song of the Mountains

Reagan Boggs and Kaitlyn BakerMarion, VA -- Two wonderfully talented ladies from the little town of Pound, Virginia will be in concert on Saturday, June 7th at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Virginia for Song of the Mountains. Reagan Boggs will perform with her band as will Kaitlyn Baker and her fine group. “I think it is amazing that both these young ladies are so talented and both are from the same little town of Pound, Virginia in the coalfields of Southwestern Virginia”, says Tim White the host and executive coordinator of the award winning nationally televised concert series. “Both of these ladies have recently signed recording contracts with record labels and we are so glad to have them on Song of the Mountains on the same night”, says White.
