IBMA Announces 2015 "Bluegrass Ramble" Showcase Artists

IBMA's World of Bluegrass 2014 Attendance Figure Exceeds 180,000

World of Bluegrass 2014Nashville, TN -- The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA)’s World of Bluegrass event, September 30-October 4, continued its successful run in Raleigh, North Carolina. As detailed in a release today from the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau, preliminary attendance figures for the entire week, which include both local and out-of-town attendees, is estimated to be more than 180,000 people. The release also states that direct visitor spending is estimated at $10.8 million for the entire World of Bluegrass event.

Regina Bartlett has Died While at the IBMA

Regina BartlettOne of the most significant people in California's bluegrass music scene, Regina Bartlett of Santa Cruz, California, died while attending the International Bluegrass Music Association's (IBMA) World of Bluegrass trade show and convention in Raleigh, North Carolina. Regina was jamming with other bluegrass attendees until the early morning hours. She went to sleep and died in her sleep hours later.

Lonesome River Band To Debut New Album at World of Bluegrass

The 2005 IBMA Dobro Player of the Year winner sat down and made a “bucket list” of friends and idols in the music business with whom he’d always wanted to record, or simply wanted to play with once again … if his health would ever allow a return to playing the music he loved.

Foundation For Bluegrass Music Fundraiser Follows Awards Show

IBMA Launches Inaugural Film Festival at World of Bluegrass

IBMA Film FestivalNashville, TN -- The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) is excited to present its first annual IBMA Bluegrass Film Festival during World of Bluegrass Week September 30-October 4 in Raleigh, NC! The festival is comprised of two Feature Films, screened during the IBMA's World of Bluegrass Business Conference (Tues.-Thurs.), and six Festival Films, screened during the Wide Open Bluegrass Festival (Fri.-Sat.). Featured film screenings will include an introduction and post-screening Q&A session with the filmmaker or a representative during the Business Conference. All eight films (feature and festival) will be shown twice during the weekend.
