By various medleys on the Artist Lineup website page, there are a series of medleys. As the artists are identified, their names are posted to the roster. The site says, "We are announcing confirmed acts for this year's festival through a series of music medleys each week. As you all guess them correctly, we post their names and photos in the scroller above, as well as a text list below. Good luck guessing and share your guesses with your friends!"

The 39th Telluride Bluegrass Festival Begins Today

Telluride Bluegrass Festival 2012The Summer Solstice and the 39th Telluride Bluegrass officially begins today. Yesterday afternoon Greensky Bluegrass and Della Mae with special guest Peter Rowan took the stage at Sunset Plaza in Mountain Village for the 4th Annual FirstGrass show. This free show begins the official music of the their gathering of Festivarian Nation in Telluride.

Kent Gustavson, PhD.Doc Watson expert Dr. Kent Gustavson is the author of Blind But Now I See: The Biography of Music Legend Doc Watson. The new edition of this award-winning biography of guitarist and traditional bluegrass singer Arthel “Doc” Watson, released in March 2012 (Sumach-Red Books, New York), chronicles the life and times of the beloved musician. Watson died in North Carolina after abdominal surgery on May 29, 2012. A sample chapter from the book can be found at Sample Chapter.

Ralph Stanley to Honor Doc Watson in Greensboro Concert

Doc Watson Statue Unveiling Held in Boon, North Carolina

The statue was unveiled on Friday, June 24th as part of the Downtown Boone Development project. The statue was sculpted by artist Alex Hallmark.
