Birthplace of Country Music Museum Hosts Museum Day Live! March 12

Birthplace of Country Music MuseumBristol, TN/VA -- The Birthplace of Country Music Museum is hosting a special Museum Day Live! on Saturday, March 12, 2016. In the spirit of the Smithsonian Museums, which offer free admission every day, Museum Day Live! is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine in which participating museums across the country open their doors for free to anyone presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket. The public is invited to download their free tickets and come have a fun day out at the museum.

On this day only, participating museums across the United States emulate the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington D.C.-based facilities, which offer free admission every day, and open their doors for free to those who download a Museum Day Live! ticket.

New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music

 Celebrating American Roots MusicBristol, TN/VA -- The Birthplace of Country Music Museum (BCMM) explores the rich traditions in American music through New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music. Acquired from the Smithsonian Institution by BCMM, the installation once served as one of the Smithsonian's traveling exhibits. New Harmonies will be on view beginning March 18, 2015 and continuing through September 30, 2015.

The Grascals Perform at Inaugural Ball at the Smithsonian

The GrascalsNashville, TN -- Multi-award-winning band, The Grascals, will perform at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian on January 21st at 7:00 p.m. for a celebration of the Inauguration of the President of the United States. The Native Nations Inaugural Ball will feature music, dancing and native cuisine. Funds raised will support the educational programs of the National Museum of the American Indian.
