New Coon Creek Girls Performing Feb. 27th at Stage 123

New Coon Creek GirlsThe WoodSongs Dalton 2016 Concert Series will host the New Coon Creek Girls, a Kentucky based bluegrass band, and singer-songwriter Kathy Reed at 7 pm on Saturday, February 27 at Stage 123 in downtown Dalton, Georgia. The New Coon Creek Girls were formed in 1979 by John Lair, the founder of the radio program The Renfro Valley Barn Dance, with the intention of carrying on the traditional music that was played by the original "Coon Creek Girls" on his famous program from 1930's-1960s. It didn't take long for Mr. Lair to see that the New Coon Creek Girls' talents would take them far beyond the walls of Renfro Valley.

The VW BoysAt 7 pm on Saturday February 28 when the WoodSongs Dalton Chapter will feature singer songwriter Kelli Johnson and the VW Boys. Kelli is an incredible singer and talented songwriter and the VW Boys will bring a smile to your face with their entertaining blend of music, magic, and comedy. WoodSongs Dalton Announces 2015 Concert Series

The first concert will feature the award winning singer/songwriter, fiddler, clawhammer banjo picking Becky Buller with a bunch of hot shot pickers from the Nashville area and the highly acclaimed dulcimer virtuoso Butch Ross on Saturday January 31st, 2015.

Rigneys Family Bluegrass Kicks Off WoodSongs Season

The RigneysThe Dalton WoodSongs Coffee House Concert will kick off the 2014 series on January 25th with the Rigneys a family bluegrass band. Based near Nasvhille, TN, this established band plays over 70 shows annually entertaining fans in a variety of venues from Bluegrass Underground to Festivals, TV shows, a host of other acoustic music venues, and private parties. Opening for the Rigneys will be Chattanooga's own Lon Eldridge.

Dalton WoodSongs Coffeehouse Gets New Director

Paul Byrum Paul Byrum, the director of the WoodSongs Dalton Chapter since 2009 has announed that he will be leaving. During his time there, the Dalton WoodSongs Coffeehouse has been a major force in charitable bluegrass activity. From the ever popular Bluegrass Bands Helping Hands program and albums to support those impacted by the economic down turn to the concert series benefitting the Providence Ministries Rescue Mission and more, Paul has taken the Dalton WoodSongs Coffeehouse to new and greater heights. Tom Brown will assume the director responsibilities beginning in January 2014.

Winter Woodsongs Coffeehouse Presents Bluegrass Artist Carrie Hassler

An Evening with Carrie HasslerDalton, GA -- The Woodsongs Coffeehouse Dalton Chapter announces the return of their annual winter concert series to raise awareness and proceeds to complete construction of the 60 bed shelter for men by Providence Ministries. The new shelter is currently under constrction at 613 Oxford Street in Dalton, Georgia.
