Mumford & Sons in the Top Running for Grammy Nominations

Grammy AwardNashville, TN -- Nominations for the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards® (www.grammy.com) were announced by The Recording Academy® and reflected an eclectic mix of the best and brightest in music over the past year, as determined by the voting members of The Academy. For the fifth year, nominations for the annual GRAMMY Awards were announced on primetime television as part of "The GRAMMY® Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night®," a one-hour CBS (www.cbs.com) entertainment special broadcast live for the first time ever from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on "GRAMMY Sunday," Feb. 10, 2013, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and once again will be broadcast live in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). Incredible news this week! A banjo album hits #1 on the Billboard charts in the form of Mumford & Sons greatly anticipated sophomore effort, Babel, which features Deering Banjo Artist Winston Marshall and his Deering Eagle II banjo with a Kavanjo Banjo Pick-Up.

Recent releases Tempest, by the first ever Best Contemporary Folk/Americana GRAMMY® winner (2007) Bob Dylan, and The Carpenter, by three time Americana Group/Duo of the Year The Avett Brothers (2007, 2010, 2011), both debuted in the Top 5 of Billboard’s September 19th chart. In addition, the self-titled Lumineers album strongly represent Americana as one of the best selling music genres according to Billboard’s Top 20 today.
