The Tuttles With A. J. Lee Awarded Best Northern California Bluegrass Band

The Tuttles with A.J. LeeThe popular family act The Tuttles With A. J. Lee returned to the winner’s circle, claiming another title as best bluegrass band in the Northern California Bluegrass Awards held in Redwood City on January 24, 2015. Jack Tuttle won for best fiddle player, Michael Tuttle for best mandolin player, and A. J. Lee as best female vocalist. The Tuttle family is from Palo Alto and Lee is from Tracy.

NCBS Announces Their 2015 Lifetime Achievement Awards

The January 24 ceremony & concert in Redwood City are part of the free weekend-long NCBS Bluegrass On Broadway Festival.

Northern California Bluegrass Society Issues Call for Films

Bluegrass on BroadwayThe Northern California Bluegrass Society has issued it’s annual Call For Films for the Eighth Annual NCBS Bluegrass Film Festival to be held on January 25, 2015 in Redwood City, CA. The film festival is part of the weekend’s NCBS Bluegrass On Broadway Festival. The deadline for film submissions for consideration by the festival is October 24, 2014.

Bean Creek Bluegrass BandBean Creek from Santa Cruz was named Best Bluegrass Band at the 2014 Northern California Bluegrass Awards held in Redwood City on January 25. The 7th annual ceremony was presented by the Northern California Bluegrass Society as part of the Bluegrass On Broadway Festival.

Northern California Bluegrass Society Lifetime Achievement Awards

Jack TuttleThe Northern California Bluegrass Society has announced that the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Awards will honor four long-time bluegrass music teachers — Bill Evans, Steve Palazzo, Jack Tuttle, and Lee Anne Welch. The awards will be presented on January 25, 2014 as part of the Northern California Bluegrass Awards Show at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center Theater in Redwood City.

Northern California Bluegrass Society Calls For Bluegrass Related Documentary Films

Bluegrass on BroadwayThe Sixth Annual Northern California Bluegrass Society (NCBS) International Bluegrass Music Museum (IBMM) Film Festival will be held on January 27, 2013 in Redwood City. The film event is part of the 4-day Bluegrass On Broadway Festival presented by the Northern California Bluegrass Society. It is possible that the film festival may expand to two days in 2013, with the added session on January 20.
