Jim VanCleve Announces Mountain Heart Departure

Jim VanCleveFiddler Jim VanCleve has announced that he will be leaving Mountain Heart, a group he helpd establish almost 16 years ago. Jim has certainly made his mark with this outstanding group of bluegrass music artists and he and the group are seperating on good terms. Jim will keep his fans posted through his Facebook page. Mountain Heart has not announced any possible replacements and Jim will continue to fulfil his existing committments as best he can.

Mountain Fever Records Signs Breaking Grass to Label

Breaking GrassWillis, VA -- Mountain Fever Records continues to build a stellar roster of artists, expanding the label with top of the line performers including the signing of highly acclaimed Mississippi favorites, Breaking Grass. Mountain Fever will release the band's first single on the label, written by guitarist Cody Farrar, in April with a full album of all original music to follow sometime in early summer. This will be the third CD from the band in three years.

Paul Williams Started Retirement December 31st

Paul has performed bluegrass, gospel and bluegrass gospel for years and has contributed to the lives of many fans and followers. Paul's love for music and the Lord began at the early age of nine when his father bought him an “A” model Gibson mandolin to play in prayer meetings and church services. The love and dedication continue today with Paul and his great band traveling all over the country spreading the good news at churches, festivals and benefits.

Bluegrass Band Cumberland River Announces They Are Disbanding

Cumberland RiverJamie Dean, band leader of the popular bluegrass music band Cumberland River, yesterday announced that the music group would be disbanding effective immediately. Harlan, Kentucky native Dean and his family recently relocated to Florida due to his new full time non-music job and he has plans to release a solo album in the near future. Band members Dustin Middleton and Jamie Stewart, also from Harlan, along with Brad Gulley and Gary Robinson Jr. will go their separate ways in their music careers, but will certainly always remain lifelong friends.

Another Band Change -- John Meyer Departing Clay Hess Band

John MeyerBanjo player announced, "I thought I'd write a little note about the circumstances of my leaving The Clay Hess Band, since a good deal of my friends have been asking, and for some reason, people always seem to assume the worst." The change isn't due to anything wrong -- quite the contrary. The band has announced on Facebook that Zach Gilmer has joined the Clay Hess Band on banjo.
