Bill and the Belles at Blue Ridge Music Center July 30

Bill and the BellesGalax, VA -- Two stellar groups that do their regions proud take the stage on Saturday, July 30, at the Blue Ridge Music Center, milepost 213 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The South Carolina Broadcasters open the performance at 7 p.m., followed by Bill and the Belles.

Kilby Spencer & the Crooked Road RamblersSaturday, July 23rd, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia, will present a special concert by Kilby Spencer & the Crooked Road Ramblers with special guest Leon Frost. The Crooked Road Ramblers play traditional old time dance music from the mountains of Virginia and North Carolina. Members of the band are Kilby Spencer on fiddle, John Perry on guitar, Peco Watson on clawhammer banjo, Donald Hill on guitar and vocals, Wayne Dye on mandolin and Karen Carr on bass and vocals. Most members of the band are second and third-generation musicians who now play old time mountain music influenced by their families and communities.

Nu-Blu Sets Sail on the 2017 Bluegrass and Blue Water Cruise

Bluegrass & Blue Water CruiseCharleston, SC -- Fans of bluegrass band Nu-Blu are about to get an up-close and personal experience with the award winning band, as the date is set for the 2017 Bluegrass & Blue Water Cruise presented by Raymond's Reserve. The five day adventure will take place Jan. 5-10, 2017, departing from Charleston, S.C. on Carnival Cruise Lines to Freeport and Nassau, Bahamas. Other bands performing on the excursion include traditional favorites The Bluegrass Brothers and Unbridled Strings.

The concert, which takes place at the Prospect Park Bandshell (9thSt. & Prospect Park West) is free to the public (with a suggested $5 contribution at the gate) and begins at 7:00 P.M.

Carter Family Fold Presents Dry Hill Draggers Saturday

Dry Hill DraggesHiltons, VA -- Saturday, July 16th, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia, will present a concert of old time music by the Dry Hill Draggers. Admission to the concert is $10 for adults, $1 for children 6 to 11, under age 6 free. The Dry Hill Draggers started out in 1981. From Franklin County, Virginia, the group included Jimmy Boyd on banjo and his brother, Billy.

Marty Raybon, Daryle Singletary, and more appearing! Proceeds from this festival will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Since the year 2000, MACC and you have donated over $875,847.00 to St. Jude and the Y.M.C.A., helping children around the world. This year will be the 16th Year for Musicians Against Childhood Cancer.
