Darin & Brooke Aldridge to Release “Faster and Farther”

Faster and FartherNashville, TN -- Darin and Brooke Aldridge gear up for the February 10 release of their newest CD, Faster and Farther, introducing two fresh tracks to Bluegrass and Country fans via three online outlets. A flurry of promotional activity had been planned for release week, but instead a flurry of ice and snow found the Aldridge's and their band stranded somewhere between Nashville and Asheville on I-40 when the storm hit. They were forced to cancel a number of appearances and events, including the world renowned Station Inn and WSM Radio.

Bluegrass Artists Congregate at Earl Scruggs Center Opening

Earl Scruggs Center StatueScores of bluegrass artists converged on Shelby, North Carolina Saturday for the grand opening of the Earl Scruggs Center: Music & Stories from the American South. The celebration include bluegrass, country and Americana artists who have either been influenced by Scruggs or have performed with him. Earl Scruggs is credited with the 3-Finger picking style that has become a trademark of bluegrass. Scruggs also performed many other styles and with a broad range of performers.

Darin and Brooke Aldridge, are from Cherryville N.C. and are one of the best duos in acoustic music these days. In 2011 the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) voted them an Emerging Artist of the year nominee two years in a row and the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music (SPBGMA) voted them as gospel group, album, and song of the year nominees.
