Inaugural Bluegrass at the Beach Festival

Blue HighwayDestin, FL -- From seasoned Bluegrass veteran bands to contemporary twists on Bluegrass sound to sensational rising stars, the inaugural Bluegrass at the Beach produced by Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation (MKAF) will be an art-filled family-friendly musical showcase that appeals to all ages. Presented with support from ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals and Real Estate as part of MKAF’s 20th anniversary celebration, the daylong Bluegrass at the Beach music festival will be presented at the Cultural Arts Village — located in the scenic coastal town of Destin on the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast — on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Musicians Against Childhood Cancer Festival July 22-25

MACC 2015The 31st Annual Musicians Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Bluegrass Classic and Music Festival at Hoover Y-Park, Columbus, Ohio takes place July 22 - 25, 2015. Proceeds from this annual festival benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Since the year 2000, MACC and you have donated $809,690.00 to St. Jude and the Y.M.C.A., helping children around the world. This year will be the 16th Year for Musicians Against Childhood Cancer.

IBMA Announces Artists for Wide Open Bluegrass

One of the highlights of the press conference was the announcement that Alison Krauss & Union Station Featuring Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush Band, Jerry Douglas Presents Earls of Leicester, The Gibson Brothers, Blue Highway, and O’Connor Family Band will round out the list of performers at Red Hat Amphitheater during Wide Open Bluegrass, the weekend festival that takes place as part of the World of Bluegrass event.

The award marks two Guitar Player of the Year honors for Stafford and a total of six cumulative SPBGMA honors for Blue Highway. The honor comes on the heels of Stafford earning the 2014 IBMA Songwriter of the Year Award last October in Raleigh.
