Wilson Fairchild's “Songs Our Dad’s Wrote” due Feb 7

Songs Our Dads WroteWilson Fairchild is a country music duo made up of Wil and Langdon Reid from the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. These two men, referred to as “the Reid boys,” are highly acclaimed songwriters who have been writing, performing and playing music together their whole lives. They both have been writing songs since their teenage years in between baseball and football games and girls, of course. Along with recording their own music, such artists as the Statler Brothers, Ricky Skaggs and Dailey & Vincent have also recorded their songs. So yes, that means their songwriting gamut spans through the country, bluegrass and gospel fields. Wilson Fairchild is gearing up for their upcoming project, Songs Our Dads Wrote, which will hit stores February 7.

Bluegrass, Country Legends Perform Charity Concert in Brentwood, TN

Mission of LoveBrentwood, TN -- Several bluegrass and country music artists who have written hundreds of hits and/or performed with some of the industry’s biggest stars will perform in Brentwood, Tennessee, on Saturday, February 13, to raise money for a humanitarian program in Ecuador. Songwriters Carl Jackson, Larry Cordle and Jerry Salley will headline the “Mission of Love” concert, along with acclaimed vocalist Val Storey. Proceeds will help fund essential needs of San Jose Obrero, Good Shepherd’s sister church in Mante Ecuador.

Country: Portraits of an American Sound

 Portraits of an American SoundLos Angeles, CA -- The Annenberg Space for Photography presents Country: Portraits of an American Sound. Offered free to the public May 31 through September 28, 2014, the exhibit presents images of the pioneers, poets and icons of country music. Guest curators for this exhibit are Tim Davis and Michael McCall of the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum and Shannon Perich of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American. Using historical and contemporary photographs to explore how images shape the public identity of country music performers and of the genre itself, celebrated performers such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Keith Urban and Hank Williams—as well as deejays, fans, executives and musicians—are seen in the works of photographers who documented multiple generations of this popular history.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and the Grand Ole Opry release four CDs with recordings by more than 50 legendary and contemporary superstar artists. The Classic Collection includes live performances recorded on the celebrated stage of the Grand Ole Opry spanning six decades from the mid 1950s to the 2000s.
