Bluegrass for Hospice Celebrates Best Year Yet

Bluegrass for HosiceThis year’s Bluegrass for Hospice raised $38,298.91! In 8 years, it’s the best yet, with a total raised of $192,000.00. On Saturday October 22, around 450 attendees enjoyed live Bluegrass music while raising money for our local Hospice of St. Mary’s, Hospice House. Bluegrass for Hospice-2016 was held at Bubby Knott’s Flat Iron Farm in Great Mills, MD.

Marty Raybon, Daryle Singletary, and more appearing! Proceeds from this festival will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Since the year 2000, MACC and you have donated over $875,847.00 to St. Jude and the Y.M.C.A., helping children around the world. This year will be the 16th Year for Musicians Against Childhood Cancer.

Susie's Cause Bluegrass-Folk FestivalBaltimore, MD -- The Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation, Inc. (“Susie’s Cause”) is thrilled to present rising star singer-songwriter Sarah Jarosz and old-time bluegrass stalwarts Seldom Scene at its Bluegrass-Folk Festival on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Oregon Ridge Park in Cockeysville, Maryland. The legendary bluegrass superstar set to headline this second annual event will be announced on May 30. The Stray Birds, Mipso, Tim and Savannah Finch with the Eastman String Band, and the Ken and Brad Kolodner Quartet round out the bill of this year’s festival, all proceeds of which will benefit Susie’s Cause, the Baltimore-based national nonprofit foundation dedicated to colon cancer prevention, treatment, and support services.

Bluegrass Jam's Fundraising Total Exceeds $200,000

Bluegrass Marathon JamNeil Hamrick's eyes glistened with tears as he was presented the Maryland Distinguished Citizen Proclamation by Gov. Larry Hogan's Deputy Press Secretary Lorena Rivera. A letter sent to the Governor and County Executive's offices describes Hamrick as "a selfless individual who works tirelessly behind the scenes and in front for the Fisher House organization." The presentation was made during Hamrick's 7th Annual Bluegrass Marathon Jam on Feb. 27, proclaimed "Neil Hamrick Day" by Hogan. Representatives from the County Executive's Office, Knights of Columbus and Fisher House Foundation were also in attendance and acknowledged Hamrick's contributions.

Kentucky's Own Sam Bush Returns to ROMP Festival

Bluegrass Stars Join Together for James King Benefit Concert

Jon says, "If the title seems familiar, it's because it's from the old WoB-related joke about what IBMA stands for - and that's because the project is, among other things, a fundraiser; profits from the sale of the music will be donated to the IBMA."
