Opry Country Classics Hosted By Larry Gatlin Returns to Ryman Auditorium

Opry Country Classics 2012Nashville, TN -- The unforgettable songs that helped transform Nashville into Music City are set to be showcased on stage at the historic Ryman Auditorium during the fifth year of Opry Country Classics Thursdays March 28 – May 23. Grammy®-winner Larry Gatlin returns as show host for the first show of the season, welcoming multi-Grammy®-nominated Nashville favorites The Time Jumpers as Spotlight Artists. Gatlin will be welcoming artists who'll perform their own country hits as well as timeless favorites.

50 Years after the Crash: Remembering Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas, Hawkshaw Hawkins

The Grand Ole Opry suffered the biggest loss of talent in its 87-year history when a small plane carrying Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas and Hawkshaw Hawkins, along with Cline's manager Randy Hughes, crashed on the evening of March 5, 1963, in a heavily wooded area roughly 100 miles west of Nashville. Now, 50 years after the crash the we are remembering Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas, and Hawkshaw Hawkins.
