Monroe Mandolin Camp 2015Original Blue Grass Boys giving a Q&A and demonstration. One-On-One knee to knee private individualized tutorials with an instructor of your choice. An opening night jam where you don't know who of Nashville's finest will show up to hang out and play tunes with you. Learning the Art of Mandolin Construction from world-class luthiers Paul Duff and Will Kimble (and rumor has it that Steve Gilchrist may make it this year as well)! The camp is excited to present to you four of Bill Monroe's greatest-and enduring-sidemen. They are Glen Duncan, Tom Ewing, Mark Hembree and Blake Williams, who entered Monroe's band between 1979 and 1986.

Bluegrass Banjo Artist Butch Robins Releases 2 Holiday Singles

Butch RobinsBanjo master, Butch Robins, (formerly of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys, Newgrass Revival, Leon Russell Band, Charlie Moore and more....) has just released two new singles for the holiday season. The first, "Holiday Toast" is an original composition written and played by Butch on banjo and treats listeners to a rare solo vocal performance by him as well! The second is Butch's arrangement of the classic Leroy Anderson tune, "Sleigh Ride", featuring the wonderful singing of Nashville's Kathy Chiavola!

South 40 Films is producing a documentary on Peter Rowan's amazing career and are seeking financial assistance through their Kickstarter Program for "The Tao of Bluegrass." Peter Rowan is a one of a kind singer with an astonishing vocal range and an instantly recognizable voice.

Legendary Bluegrass Fiddler Kenny Baker has Died

Kenny BakerLegendary bluegrass pioneer fiddler Kenneth Clayton Baker (Kenny Baker) died yesterday at age 85. Baker was one of the finest fiddlers in bluegrass and performed with the Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe, for a quarter century as a member of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys.
