In Collaboration: The Milk Carton Kids & Sarah Jarosz

The Milk Carton Kids & Sarah JaroszGrammy-nominated folk artists The Milk Carton Kids & Sarah Jarosz, along with Alex Hargreaves, Paul Kowert and Nathaniel Smith, will perform at select venues across the U.S. this fall, and on October 27 the collaborative ensemble will grace the stage of the CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Buzz Cason to be Honored at Poets & Prophets Series

Buzz CasonNashville, TN -- Nashville rock and soul pioneer Buzz Cason will share stories and songs as the next subject of the acclaimed Poets and Prophets series at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum on Saturday, July 5, at 1:30 p.m. The in-depth interview and performance dovetails perfectly with the 10th anniversary of the museum’s Grammy-winning two-disc compilation Night Train to Nashville: Music City Rhythm and Blues, 1945-1970, a set cataloging Nashville’s rich and too frequently overlooked R&B scene, and the exhibit it accompanied. Robert Knight’s iconic “Everlasting Love,” which Cason co-wrote and co-produced, is the album’s luminous closer. More Night Train-related events will be announced later this month.

CMHoF&M Presents Two Bakersfield Sound Programs in March

The Bakersfield SoundNashville, TN -- This month, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will present a special program and performance by musician and producer Pete Anderson (March 22) and a Merle Haggard film screening (March 30) in support of the exhibition The Bakersfield Sound: Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, and California Country. All for the Hall Fundraiser Returns to Los Angeles March 4

Vince GillThe Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum's All for the Hall fundraiser will return to Los Angeles for the first time in nearly three years. The event, which will take place on Tuesday, March 4, at Club Nokia, will again follow a "guitar pull" format, featuring performances by Country Music Hall of Fame members Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Heart and Grammy Award-winning artist Jason Mraz. Acclaimed actress/singer/film producer Rita Wilson will host the event.

Young Artists Unite for Acoustic Guitar Pull

Country Music Hall of Fame & MuseumNashville, TN -- Katie Armiger, Brent Cobb, Chris Janson and Corey Smith, four rising singer-songwriters who have been selected to participate in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s emerging artist membership program, will take the Ford Theater stage on Tuesday, December 10, at 7:30 p.m. for an acoustic guitar pull. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the museum.

Artist-In-Residence Ricky Skaggs Performs Bluegrass

Ricky SkaggsNashville, TN -- Ricky Skaggs is the current Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum’s 2013 Artist-in-Residence. Skaggs will present two intimate evening country and bluegrass music performances on November 18 and 19, at 7:00 p.m. The concerts will be the museum’s first public programs in the new CMA Theater. The performances will be Country Boy at Heart on the 18th and Bluegrass Rules on the 19th.

Jack Clement, Bobby Bare, Kenny Rogers to Country Music Hall of Fame

Bobby Bare, Kenny Rogers and the late Jack Clement -- who died on August 8, four months after learning of his election into the Hall of Fame -- were feted with heartfelt testimonials and special performances of songs they made famous. The wide variety of artists paying tribute to the inductees underscored the crossover appeal and eclectic musical catalogs of the three men being honored.

The Bakersfield Sound Continues Through December 2014

The popular and acclaimed installation, which opened on March 23, 2012, was originally scheduled to close at the end of this year.

Museum Has Raised $78 Million, Seeks Final $20 Million

Working On A Building CMHoFNashville, TN -- The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum’s capital campaign, which will finance the institution’s 200,000-square-foot expansion, has reached nearly $78 million, Museum Director Kyle Young announced today. Construction on the nearly $100 million project, which will take the museum’s footprint from 140,000 square feet to more than 350,000 square feet, took shape in June 2011 and will be completed in March 2014.

Earl Scruggs' Banjo to Become Part of "Precious Jewels" Display

Earl ScruggsNashville, TN -- Legendary musician Earl Scruggs’ Gibson RB-Granada Mastertone banjo will become part of the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum’s “Precious Jewels” display, museum officials announced today. This banjo, which was Scruggs’ primary instrument and has never before been exhibited, will go on display July 12.
