New Music Video by Cumberland River

Cumberland RiverRural Rhythm Records is proud to announce The Alternate Root is hosting the band's world premiere of the new music video, "Cold & Withered Heart" by Cumberland River. The video was filmed on location in the band's hometown of Harlan, Kentucky in the Jones Creek area. It is a lighthearted twist on their original song written by Cumberland River band member, Jamie Dean (lead vocals and banjo) who is joined by band members: Dustin Middleton (mandolin and harmony vocals), Andy Buckner (guitar and harmony vocals); Joey Jones (bass); and Jamie Stewart (Dobro.) The video was directed and filmed by Anthony Ladd, Kneelindesign.

BlueHighways TV, Rural Rhythm Partner to Help Promote Roots Music

BlueHighways TV and Rural Rhythm RecordsHendersonville, TN - BlueHighways TV (BHTV) and Rural Rhythm Records announced today that they have formed a promotional partnership to bring the label's artists to BHTV viewers through HD television specials, guest appearances and music video segments. As part of the new partnership, Rural Rhythm artists will also take to the festival stages to educate fans about BlueHighways TV.

Rural Rhythm Records Relocating to Mt. Juliet, Tennessee

Rural RhythmRural Rhythm Records announced that the label is relocating from their Los Angeles, California area to Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. This will bring the label closer to many of their artists as well as the region where much the music was born. During the next week, the office phone lines will be down, but staff will be able to be reached on their cell phones. There will be limited email access during the transition. The label's current PO Box in California will be kept open until the new mailing address is announced at a later time.

Darrell Webb Band Video for 'Miner's Hell'

Darrell Webb BandIn early spring 2011, The Darrell Webb Band went on location to a privately owned cabin in Bland, VA, to film their first music video. The featured song, "Miner's Hell" can be found on DWB's first release, Bloodline, which has made it through to round 2 of the IBMA Award voting process for Album of the Year.

Josh Slone and CoalTown - Best Classic Bluegrass Album of the Year

Josh Slone and CoalTownBob Everhart, President of The Rural Roots Music Commission announced that Josh Slone & CoalTown have been selected to receive the Best Classic Bluegrass Album of the Year award for their self-titled new album released earlier this year on Rural Rhythm Records. This honor will be presented to Josh on Wednesday, August 31, at 11:30am at the 36th Annual Oldtime Country Bluegrass Festival held at The Plymouth County Fairgrounds in LeMars, Iowa.

Graves Mountain All Star JamThe All Star Jam - Live at Graves Mountain, a special recorded event album, hit #10 this week on the Billboard Bluegrass Album Chart. Mark Newton, the album's Producer and Production Coordinator said, "The Bluegrass fans that attended this years Graves Mountain Festival of Music in Syria, Virginia were really excited about getting the CD we recorded last year. A good number of these attendees were at the recording a year ago. It was their opportunity for them to take home a piece of history and have the Rural Rhythm CD as part of their collection which captures the spirit of what Bluegrass festivals are all about.

Rural Rhythm Announces Bean Blossom Live Album Recording

Bean Blossom SignRural Rhythm Records is proud to announce a live album recording during the 45th Annual Bill Monroe Memorial Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe. This 8-day event began June 11 and ran through June 18, 2011.
