Old Town Temecula Bluegrass Festival

Special ConsensusTemecula, CA -- Grammy Nominees, The Special Consensus will headline the 13th Annual Old Town Temecula Bluegrass Festival March 16 and 17. Their album "Scratch Gravel Road" received a Grammy nomination for the 2012 Bluegrass Album of the Year. Known as the best free festival on the west coast by bluegrass fans, this year's Festival features 11 scheduled bands and dozens of impromptu performances throughout the six block town.

Compass Records Receives 2 Bluegrass Album GRAMMY Nominations

Special Consensus and Noam PikelnyNashville, TN -- Compass Records recording artists received two out of the five nominations in the category of Best Bluegrass Album during last night’s Recording Academy announcement for the 55th Annual GRAMMY awards. Albums nominated include banjo virtuoso Noam Pikelny’s dynamic solo album Beat The Devil and Carry A Rail and Special Conensus’ critically acclaimed Scratch Gravel Road. The awards will be held on February 10th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live at 8/7c on CBS.

Lead man and banjoist Greg Cahill has developed a formula for cultivating successful, road-worthy groups and his bandleader acumen has never been stronger. On Scratch Gravel Road, Special Consensus delivers what is arguably the finest album in its nearly 4-decade career, featuring a set of new material both driving and deep. The album is scheduled for release on March 27.
