Initial List of IBMA Awards Show Performers & Presenters Announced

(August. 28, 2013) — An initial list of performers and presenters for the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA)’s 24th International Bluegrass Music Awards, held on Thursday, September 26 at 7:30 p.m. EST, has been announced. The Awards Show, held at Raleigh, North Carolina’s Duke Energy Center for the Performing Artist (Memorial Auditorium) will feature performances and award presentations from some of the genre’s brightest stars.

Full Schedule for IBMA's Bluegrass Ramble Announced

IBMA World of Bluegrass Just Over A Month Away

World of Bluegrass 2013Nashville, TN -- World of Bluegrass week is the annual homecoming for the bluegrass music community, taking place September 24-28, 2013 in Raleigh, North Carolina. World of Bluegrass features three separate events: the Business Conference (Sept. 24-26) that focuses on development and networking for bluegrass professionals, the International Bluegrass Music Awards (Sept. 26) and the Wide Open Bluegrass Festival (Sept. 27-28), which will host the best in bluegrass music as well as multiple workshops, jam sessions and activities (ticketed events), and will also feature a massive street festival that is FREE and open to the public, with three music stages, a youth talent stage, the North Carolina Whole Hog Barbecue State Championship, Dance Tent, and many more things to see, do, and eat.

It is a four day music and camping festival that includes thirty hours of Mainstage concerts; plus daytime instrument collaborations and nightly dances in The Showcase Tent; music, contests, crafts, and games in The Family Area; twenty hands-on bluegrass music workshops in the Workshop Area; new groups on the Young Talent Stage; and dozens of food and merchant booths in the Marketplace Area.

International Bluegrass Music Association Momentum Awards Seeks Nominees

These awards are meant to recognize musicians and industry professionals in the early stages of their bluegrass careers. It is not a peoples’ choice, popularity or member-voted award, but a juried award by notable peers. Input from all constituencies is considered by said jury. Essentially, the Momentum Awards recognize the best “up and comers.”
