IBMA 2011 World of Bluegrass Showcase Artists and Songwriters Announced

World of BluegrassIBMA/ Nashville, TN -- IBMA is proud to announce the following acts have been invited to perform in featured showcases for their colleagues in the bluegrass industry during the organization's 2011 Business Conference. The purpose of these presentations is to introduce the group's talent and material to event producers, broadcasters, labels, media and other prominent industry professionals attending the events. An additional six acts will be invited to showcase, in a separate selection process, from recommendations received from nationally distributed record labels.

Initial Performers Announced for International Bluegrass Music Awards Show

IBMA AwardsNashville, TN -- An initial list of performers for IBMA's 22nd International Bluegrass Music Awards has been confirmed for the Thursday, September 29 event. The Awards Show, held at Nashville, Tennessee's historic Ryman Auditorium, will feature performances from nominees Balsam Range, The Boxcars, Dailey & Vincent, The Grascals, The Gibson Brothers, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Sierra Hull & Highway 111 and Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers. Also performing is Awards Show host, Sam Bush. More performers, as well as the lineup of presenters, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Latest IBMA Survey Yields Interesting Results

International Bluegrass Music AssociationThe International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) has just conducted another survey of their membership. The new survey included some new and better questions that also yielded some new and interesting results. While the question options were not visible for all the questions, for those that were there, an interesting picture evolved.

World of Bluegrass Getting Closer as Details Emerge

The week is called, "The World of Bluegrass" and it will be a world of just that. Nashville, Tennessee will find bluegrass music popping up everywhere besides the show itself. IBMA Bluegrass Scholarship Prize - Deadline Extended

IBMAThe International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) is pleased to announce the first annual IBMA Bluegrass Scholarship Prize. A cash award of $100 will be announced at the IBMA Award Ceremony, and presented to the developing scholar who presents the best paper on an aspect of bluegrass music at a juried academic conference within the timeframe of January 2010 - July 2011. "Developing academic scholars" are graduate students in MA or Ph.D. programs, or individuals whose advanced degree was conferred within the last five years.
