Steep Canyon Rangers Debut New Album in Bristol August 28th

RadioBristol, TN/VA -- The Birthplace of Country Music is proud to present the Steep Canyon Rangers Album Launch Concert at the Paramount on Friday, August 28, 2015. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. and will feature the band’s new ninth studio album, Radio.

Jayme Stone's Lomax Project Featuring Tim O'Brien

Bristol, VA/TN -- Birthplace of Country Music and The Paramount Center for the Arts present Jayme Stone's Lomax Project featuring Tim O'Brien on the Paramount stage Sunday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m., sponsored by the Tennessee Arts Commission. Two-time Juno-winning banjoist and composer Jayme Stone collaborates with Grammy-winning Americana artist Tim O'Brien, and others, for a re-imagining of songs collected by renowned folklorist and field pioneer Alan Lomax. This "collaboratory" brings together some of North America's most distinctive and creative roots musicians to revive and recycle traditional music.

Ballet Meets the Bristol Sessions and Beyond

The imaginative combination of ballet with the music of the Bristol Sessions, and beyond, honors Bristol’s music legacy with innovation and originality by marrying two forms of creative expression in an unexpected way.

The Masters of Bluegrass Rescheduled for March 15 at Paramount

Bluegrass MastersBristol, TN/VA -- On Friday, March 15th, lucky audiences in Bristol, Tennesssee are expected to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime bluegrass musical experience when two bands of bluegrass music legends and masters, for whom the term “supergroup” seems grossly inadequate, make their first road appearances since each debuted at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass last October. The Masters of Bluegrass will be joined with The Rambling Rooks in a wonderful bluegrass music extravaganza. Originally scheduled for January 25th, the program had to be rescheduled due to bad weather. Now, the Paramount Center for the Arts will present this program Friday, March 15th.

Phil LeadbetterThere are people who are quick to volunteer their help in a time of need. A person who is always willing to help a friend or even a stranger who is in need of help. One of these people is bluegrass/country musician Phil Leadbetter, he has been helping folks throughout his life as in his earlier years he was a trained head injury rehabilitation nurse. Phil,who left the nursing field and followed his life long dream to become a musician, has backed such artists as the late Grandpa Jones and Vern Gosdin. Uncle Phil, as he is affectionately known, has also been a member of J.D. Crowe & The New South, Wildfire and the group, Grasstowne and who of late was performing with The Whites,an American country music group.
