Laurie Lewis & Kathy Kallick Very & RayVern Williams and Ray Park both grew up in the Ozarks of Arkansas, about five miles away from each other, but never met until moving to central California in the 1950s. Their memorable live performances and recordings in the ‘60s and ‘70s largely formed the basis for the bluegrass repertoire in California, and they became powerful influences on many aspiring bluegrass musicians.Their intensity and integrity left no doubt that they were the Real Deal.

Kathy Kallick: Cut to the ChaseKathy Kallick has been among the elite of contemporary songwriters and singers since co-founding the seminal band, Good Ol’ Persons. Along the way, she has won a Grammy and two International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards, had five albums each spend a year at the top of the national bluegrass charts, appeared on three high-profile Rounder Records collections of bluegrass songs by women, received Lifetime Membership awards, and performed and recorded with the country’s top acoustic musicians.

13th Annual San Francisco Bluegrass and Old-Time FestivalSan Francisco, CA -- The eclectic blend of events booked for the 13th annual San Francisco Bluegrass and Old-Time Festival (SFBOT) will raise up a bluegrass ruckus, create some old-time fun and guarantee some ass kickin' music through performances, dances and workshops. The 10-day festival runs from Feb. 10-19 and comprises more than 30 shows at numerous small clubs around the Bay Area featuring some of the most talented musicians on the Americana and Roots music scene today.
