Entitled Down Memory Lane, the CD is a collaboration with high-lonesome singer, Mark Kuykendall. Hicks started working with Bill Monroe in 1954.

North Carolina Heritage Award Performances Set for May 20

Bobby Hicks by Pat FranklinFive North Carolinians from diverse artistic traditions will be awarded the North Carolina Heritage Award on Tuesday, May 20 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh. Recipients include: Bobby Hicks, a 10-time Grammy award-winning bluegrass fiddler; Susan Leveille, a Jackson County hand weaver; Sid Luck, a fifth-generation potter from Seagrove; Bill Myers, whose band The Monitors has played rhythm and blues and jazz music for more than 50 years; and Arnold Richardson, a Haliwa-Saponi artist who has influenced the revitalization of North Carolina Indian arts. These five accomplished artists will be honored on Tuesday, May 20 in Raleigh with a North Carolina Heritage Award.

Bluegrass MastersAlmost a year ago The Masters of Bluegrass proudly announced their first ever show as a band with Del McCoury, JD Crowe, Bobby Hicks, Jerry McCoury, and Bobby Osborne in the lineup. After a year of playing some of the best venues and festivals in the country and making some amazing music and memories, this Sunday, December 8, the bluegrass supergroup will play their last show in Naples, FL at The Philharmonic Center for the Arts.

Originally scheduled for January 25th, the program had to be rescheduled due to bad weather. Now, Bristol's Paramount Center for the Arts has rescheduled this outstanding program for next month.

Bluegrass Album Band to Appear for First Time in 23 Years at Bluegrass First Class

Bluegrass Album BandOn February 15-17, 2013 in the Grand Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Resort, 1 Resort Dr., Asheville, NC, Milton Harkey will present the 18th annual Bluegrass First Class bluegrass music festival. The Sunday Morning Gospel Show is free and open to all attendees. On Saturday, February 16, 2013 Harkey will present a special reunion of one of the greatest bands in the history of bluegrass music: The Bluegrass Album Band. Tickets go on sale Monday October 15th at 10:00 AM.

Tickets are $50 and are available on IslandInTheMountainsFest.com as well as at the Madison County Arts Council and Good Stuff and in downtown Marshall.
