Artists Announced for 2011 AMA Festival Showcases

More than 100 of the genres' trailblazers and rising stars will perform in the talent packed showcases that draw music lovers from all over the world. Among the first round of artists announced are: Gurf Morlix, Foster & Lloyd, JD Souther, Will Hoge, Elizabeth Cook, Marty Stuart and Marshall Chapman. They'll be joined by buzz-worthy up and coming acts The Civil Wars, Amy LaVere, The Farewell Drifters, Catherine Britt and The David Mayfield Parade along with others listed below.

Legendary Songwriter Jerry Foster Newest Poet and Prophet

Country Music Hall of Fame and MuseumNashville, TN -- Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Jerry Foster will take a seat at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on Saturday, September 10, as the latest subject of the quarterly series Poets and Prophets: Legendary Country Songwriters. The 1:30 p.m. in-depth interview and performance, held in the Museum's Ford Theater, is included with Museum admission and free to Museum members. Bill Monroe's 100th 3-Day Birthday Celebration at Bluegrass Museum

Bill MonroeAll members of the Bluegrass Hall of Fame who can still travel will perform with their respective bands during the International Bluegrass Music Museum's Bill Monroe Centennial Celebration, September 12, 13 & 14, 2011. The 3-day celebration takes place at the International Bluegrass Music Museum and RiverPark Center's Cannon Hall in Owensboro, KY. The event celebrates the life and 100th birthday of Bill Monroe, popularly known as the Father of Bluegrass Music, who was born in nearby Rosine, Kentucky on September 13, 1911.

2011 International Bluegrass Award Nominations Announced
