'The Hayloft Gang: The Story of the National Barn Dance' Contest

Interviews with historians, folklorists, and media experts reveal historical and cultural perspectives of this unique period in America's history. Produced and directed by Stephen Parry with supervisory producer Bob Hercules, The Hayloft Gang will premiere on PBS nationwide beginning September 1, 2011 (check local listings).

During the event, the final nominees for the 2011 IBMA Awards as well as the inductees for the Bluegrass Hall of Fame will be announced. Joining Russell for co-hosting duties will be Doyle Lawson, Sierra Hull and Josh Williams. The IBMA Awards will take plac e on Thursday, September 29th at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville as part of the World of Bluegrass Conference. Russell is the reigning IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year having won the coveted honor in 2010.
