Carol BeaugardChester, NY -- Chester resident, Carol Beaugard, is starring as The Queen in Rumple Who?, an original children's musical based on the fairy tale Rumplestilskin to be performed at The 13th Street Repertory Company in New York, N.Y. Matinee performances are on Sundays at 1:30 p.m. on March 11, March 18 and March 25. Tickets are $10 and open to the public. The musical, written by Will Bartlett and directed by Christen Omantra Callahan, is an adaptation of the children's classic Rumplestilskin by the Brothers Grimm. The 13th Street Repertory Company, founded in 1972 by Artistic Director Edith O'Hara, is home to New York's longest running Off-Off-Broadway play 'Line' now in its 38th year. It was voted 'the Best Off-Off Broadway Company to act with in New York City' in the July 20-26, 2006 issue of Backstage: The Best of New York.

Beaugard, a well-known radio DJ and bluegrass singer, stars as The Queen, a comical character who rules her son and kingdom driven by an obsession for gold. The charming and entertaining tale weaves a course of love, magic, ruses and mischief leading to an uplifting, song-filled happy ending.

"I'm truly honored to perform on the venerable stage of the 13th Street Rep, where so many great talents and shows have appeared", said Beaugard. "The show is funny and so enchanting and it's exciting to have the chance to interpret original songs and choreography alongside such a talented cast."

The play marks Beaugard's return to the New York stage. Prior to her tenure in radio she worked as a professional actress touring in summer stock and revues throughout the northeast as well as various Off-Off Broadway houses and cabarets throughout the city. She studied acting and dance at the prestigious HB Studio in Manhattan.

Locally she was last seen on stage this past October starring as ?Texas, the Kit Kat Girl' in "Cabaret for the Muddy Water Players at Museum Village in Monroe, NY. She also appeared in 2011 as 'Peggy' in Godspell at the Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, NY and as 'Gabrielle' in Neil Simon's The Dinner Party at the Newburgh Actor's Studio.

Beaugard is best known for her work in radio as host of Lonesome Pine RFD heard in the New York metro area on WFDU-FM and syndicated worldwide on WAMU's 'Bluegrass Country'. She fronts a bluegrass band "Blue Express" and makes frequent appearances at venues throughout the region. She plans to continue her endeavors in radio and music while pursuing a career in theater and voice over work. For more information, visit www.myspace.com/carolbeaugard.
