The Clinch Mountain Music Festival Moves To Carter Fold

Clinch Mountain Music Festival 2012This year's 6th annual Clinch Mountain Music Festival festival will be held on June 9, 2012, at the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia, and dedicated to Jay Dixon who passed away on January 20th. Jay was the Chairman of the Southwest Virginia Community Foundation and chaired the festival for the past five years. Watch for the lineup of music and dancing that will be announced in the next couple of weeks.

The goal of Clinch Mountain Music Fest is to preserve the heritage of the Appalachian region through its music, to promote the development of new musicians in the region, and to create a regional tourism event to promote economic development in southwest Virginia and northeast Tennessee. Over 4,000 people attended last year''s event. Clinch Mountain Music Fest 2010 is presented by the Southwest Virginia Community Foundation in conjunction with the Carter Family Memorial Music Center.

Performers will be announced soon on the web site and ticket information will also be available. Little Roy & Lizzy Long Band are already scheduled to appear.

Last year's event saw artists performing on the Carter Fold stage and this year, the Fold will be hosting the entire event. ClinchFest draws together some of the finest regional artists for a fun filled family event. If you're anywhere near Hiltons, Virginia the 2nd week of June, you will want to catch this event.
