DelFest March 5 Discount Ticket Deadline Quickly Approaching

DelFest 2012Nashville, TN -- All these sunny, mild winter days we've been experiencing probably have many of you already sorting out your camping supplies, ready for the festival season to begin. While we still have a few months to wait, DelFest will be here before you know it. So make your plans now, and grab your four-day passes before prices increase at midnight March 5th.

Stacked up with Bluegrass' best (and then some) including the festival's namesake and headliner legendary Del McCoury, the weekend will be jam packed with Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers, Yonder Mountain String Band, Bela Fleck, Sam Bush Band, Railroad Earth, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Keller Williams and many more.

In addition to 4 days and nights of non-stop music, discounted multi-day tickets include on–site camping with full facilities, artist playshops, kids activity area, bluegrass band competition, crafts faire and access to plenty of a wide variety of quality food and beverages.

DelFest's Bluegrass Academy is a friendly, encouraging, and intensive three-day learning experience with a group of some of the finest musicians in bluegrass. Instructors include: mandolinist Ronnie McCoury, banjo player Rob McCoury, fiddler Jason Carter, and bassist Alan Bartram, as well as Ronnie Bowman. The DelFest Academy happens right before the festival, May 21-24, 2012. Get your Academy tickets now as space is limited, and some classes are filling fast.

Through their many comments on Facebook and other social media sites, DelFest bluegrass music fans have made it clear that they are excited about the already announced DelFest lineup. But that was just a sneak preview of what has shaped up to be one epic show. Additions to the lineup include the versatile Bela Fleck (playing with members of the Travelin' McCourys and Danny Paisley, as well as a set with the Marcus Roberts Trio), festival favorites Railroad Earth, Leftover Salmon, and Greensky Bluegrass.

DelFest is May 24 through 27, 2012 at the Allegany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland, MD (2.5 hrs from Baltimore and DC). The festival originated from the desire to create a family-friendly music festival celebrating the rich legacy of McCoury music while creating a forum for world-class musical collaborations and to showcase fresh new talent with a down-home feeling. Personally chosen by Del, the Allegany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland, MD serves as the perfect location for DelFest--nestled along the Potomac River in the scenic Appalachian Mountains, the Fairgrounds are convenient to four major airports and easily reached by rail or road.
