DLQ Sing Me a Song About JesusBluegrass and Gospel legend Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver have announced a new gospel album to be released soon. Sing Me a Song About Jesus consists of eleven tracks of that great Doyle Lawson sound. The album has a March 20 release date scheduled.

Sing Me a Song About Jesus is available for pre-order at both the Doyle Lawson web site store and through the Crossroads Music online store.

Last night, Doyle was honored at a ceremony in the Tennessee State Capitol where the Tennessee Senate read a resolution honoring Doyle for his contributions to Tennessee and to the nation. After that, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver sang two songs a cappella. The group received a standing ovation from the members of the State Senate.

Doyle says, "As far back as I can remember, I loved the sound of music. Just about everyone listened to The Grand Ole Opry, and our family was no exception. Though I listened to all the stars on the Opry, the group that impressed me most was Bill Monroe and His Blue Grass Boys. His music was different, more intense. High lonesome is the term we used for it. I could hardly wait for Saturday nights to arrive so I could listen. I decided early on that I wanted to play that kind of music."

This should be a welcome addition to any loyal Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver fan's library and for those looking to get exposed to this kind of music. No matter where you sit, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver is how its done.
