Carol BeaugardPoughkeepsie, NY -- Radio personality Carol Beaugard is starring in two upcoming musical productions. She plays "Peggy" in "Godspell" at The Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck, New York running July 22 to August 7, 2011. The following month she will appear as the "Kit Kat Girl, Texas" in "Cabaret" produced by Creative Theater-Muddy Water Players to be performed at the Museum Village in Monroe, New York September 16 to October 2, 2011.

Beaugard, a well-known radio DJ and bluegrass singer, was last seen on stage this past April starring as "Gabrielle" in Neil Simon's farce "The Dinner Party" at The Newburgh Actors Studio in Newburgh, NY.

"I'm very excited to make my debut performances for two of the most prestigious theatre groups in the Hudson Valley," said Beaugard. "In ‘Godspell' I sing the emotional ballad ‘By My Side.' This production has a great deal of choreography and a magnificently elaborate set and lighting design. The cast is brilliant and the show should be very exciting.

"I'm so thrilled to go directly from this show into ‘Cabaret' and to have the chance to work for The Muddy Water Players," she continued. "The musical score is fantastic and on Broadway choreography was done by Bob Fosse so the show has a well-deserved reputation as one of the best musicals in theatrical history."

The Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck (thecenterforperformingarts.org) has presented musicals, comedies, dramas, Shakespeare and children's theater since it opened in 1998. It offers year-round productions, as well as workshops, summer camps and children's educational programs.

The Rhinebeck presentation of "Godspell" is produced by by Diana di Grandi (Up In one Productions) and directed by Laurie Sepe Marder. The musical is based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew and features a score by Stephen Schwartz. It was one of the biggest Broadway successes of all time and boasts a string of well-loved songs, led by the international hit, "Day By Day."

"Cabaret" is produced by Creative Theater-Muddy Water Players (ctmwp.org) and directed by Terri Brockmann. Kander and Ebb's classic musical is set in 1930s Berlin, as the romantic intrigues of several performers at a seedy nightclub play out amid the backdrop of the Nazis' rise to power.

Beaugard is best known for her work in radio as host of “Lonesome Pine RFD” heard in the New York metro area on WFDU-FM and syndicated worldwide on WAMU's "Bluegrass Country." She fronts a bluegrass band "Blue Express" and makes frequent appearances at venues throughout the region.

She plans to continue her work in radio and with her band while pursuing a career doing voice over work and acting. In fall she hopes to attend classes at Stella Adler.
