Winter Woodsongs Coffeehouse Concert Series Announced

WoodSongs CoffeehouseDalton, GA -- The Woodsongs Coffeehouse Dalton Chapter announces the return of their annual winter concert series to benefit Providence Ministries. The regionally acclaimed concert series will feature emerging and established performers of Americana, Country, and Bluegrass music. The concerts will be held in the intimate and eclectic setting of the historic Dalton Freight Depot located at 305 S. Depot Street in downtown Dalton Georgia.

On Saturday January 28th, North Carolina singer/songwriter Donna Hughes will perform. Donna has written over 300 songs during her career. Alison Krauss & Union Station recorded one of Donna's songs that appeared on an album that was awarded a Grammy for Country Album of the Year. Also appearing will be The Gobblers' Knob String Band. Fans of Tom Brown and David Crawford will not want to miss their latest comedic musical review.

The series will feature Nashville songwriter Jerry Salley on Saturday February 25th. Jerry is the 2003 SESAC Country Music Songwriter of the year. Jerry is a past winner of the Dove Award and has received 6 Dove nominations. He has over 14 million records sold world-wide including (7) #1 Country songs in Australia, appearances on Late Night w/David Letterman, Regis and Kathy Lee, NBC's Today and The Grand Ole Opry. The February concert will also feature the highly acclaimed international band Tiller's Folly from Vancouver BC Canada. Tiller's Folly performs high energy roots, Celtic and Bluegrass music.

On Saturday March 31st one of the top selling performing acts in bluegrass, Special Consensus will make their debut appearance at the Dalton Freight Depot. Also, performing, The Rockin' Acoustic Circus an emerging band with "a fresh direction for acoustic music".

The concert series is sponsored in part by the Dalton Downtown Development Authority (DDDA) and the Dalton Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). Upcoming performances include:

  • Rockin Acoustic Circus - Mar 31

Performances will begin at 7:00 PM with doors opening at 6:00PM. Individual tickets are $15.00 for Adults and $8.00 for Students and will be available at the door. Reserved table seating is provided for season ticket holders and can be purchased on-line for $50 each or $150 for a family of four. Season tickets also include a 2012 logo coffee mug with unlimited hot beverage refills during each show.
