Darrell Webb Band Video for 'Miner's Hell'

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version
Darrell Webb BandIn early spring 2011, The Darrell Webb Band went on location to a privately owned cabin in Bland, VA, to film their first music video. The featured song, "Miner's Hell" can be found on DWB's first release, Bloodline, which has made it through to round 2 of the IBMA Award voting process for Album of the Year.

Darrell began his professional career as a musician nearly 20 years ago and has a resume that consists of playing for Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, The Lonesome River Band, JD Crowe, and Rhonda Vincent and The Rage. He can also be seen and heard filling in with such groups as The Grascals and Dailey and Vincent when his schedule allows.

Eighteen months ago, Darrell set out to forge a solo career, founding the Darrell Webb Band and recorded Bloodline to respectable critical acclaim. The album and subsequent tour has earned Darrell and DWB six IBMA Award nods in the second round ballots, including Album of the Year, Emerging Artist, Instrumental Group of the Year, Song of the Year (for "Poor Ramblin' Boy"), Male Vocalist, and Mandolin Player of the Year.

When considering which tune to portray in a video, it wasn't hard for Darrell to decide upon "Miner's Hell." With his southern West Virginia roots, songs about mining coal are in his bloodline. Darrell teamed up with Joe Denton of Broken Clarity Films, who served as videographer, editor, and co-producer. Also behind the camera and giving producing input was Ron Dockery. Darrell's booking and management agent, Jason R. Grubb of Jason R. Grubb Artist Management, served as producer.

Last, but certainly not least, Darrell sends a sincere thank you to the fans for their support through their kind words, album and ticket sales, and award nominations. DWB is currently in the process of recording their second album and can't wait to see you down the road!
