Christmas is a special time for many people – that season of the year when folks come together with their families to share gifts given from the heart, make memories to cherish for years to come, and rejoice in the birth of Jesus Christ. "Christmas Time in the Country", the brand new single from Carson Peters & Iron Mountain, celebrates the warmth and simplicity of this time of year, set to a cheerful, traditional melody.
Written by Eric and Ben Marshall (the group’s banjo and bass players, respectively), "Christmas Time in the Country" captures the little details that make the Christmas season so memorable. From the sight of holly in the window to the smell of Christmas dinner being prepared in the kitchen, the song is sure to bring a vivid picture to life in listeners’ minds.
Carson Peters & Iron Mountain is a new venture for Peters, a celebrated young fiddler from Piney Flats, Tennessee. At just twelve years old, he’s already appeared on the Grand Ole Opry numerous times, made television appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Little Big Shots with Steve Harvey, and won several youth fiddling championships. Although he does enjoy and appreciates the many opportunities he’s earned, they’re not the main reason he works so hard at his music. “It’s all about using the talent God gave me to make people smile!” he says.
Joining Peters in Iron Mountain are four other talented musicians. Peters’ father, Jamie, plays guitar for the group, while another father-and-son pair, Eric and Ben Marshall of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, hold down the banjo and bass spots. Austin Tate, a native of Marion, Virginia, rounds out the band on mandolin. The group is in the final stages of recording a full-length, self-titled project, with plans to release the album in early 2017.
Crisp instrumentation, smooth vocals, and a love of bluegrass music define Carson Peters & Iron Mountain. On Friday, November 4th, join them in celebrating "Christmas Time in the Country"! The new single will be available on Airplay Direct, iTunes, Amazon, and other online music providers.
