The Becky Buller BandThe cameras, cables and 73-person PBS crew from our marathon, multi-genre taping weekend are packed up and gone and it's back to bluegrass as usual this Saturday. But The Becky Buller Band and Off The Wagon aren't your usual bluegrass, they're two of the best young bands on the scene today.

Becky is one of my favorite people as well as musicians and I am not alone in that opinion. Last fall, she took home three awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association's (IBMA) ceremonies in Raleigh - Emerging Artist, Songwriter and Recorded Event of the Year, the last for her all-star tribute to Bill Monroe, "Southern Flavor."

There's something special about seeing an artist, just as they're finally getting the recognition they've worked so hard for, and Becky's performance with her top-shelf Becky Buller Band - Ned Luberecki on banjo, Dan Boner on mandolin and fiddle, Brandon Bostic on guitar and resonator guitar, and Daniel Hardin on bass - looks to have a little extra magic on Saturday.

Opening the show is a hot young up-and-coming Nashville band, Off The Wagon - Michael Jezewski, guitar; Josh Brand, banjo; David Price, mandolin; Gabe Martin, fiddle; Grant Johnson, resonator guitar; Nate Shuppert, bass. Together, it looks to be a day of high-energy bluegrass under our antique Austrian crystal chandelier. Add a beautiful spring drive through the rolling Tennessee hills, a wildflower-strewn walk from the parking lot down to the mouth of the cave and then that dreamlike trail winding down the 333 feet to the Volcano Room and you have a day you'll always remember. Be sure to bring your camera.

And, unlike our way-sold-out PBS taping, we still have some tickets available for Becky and OTW, at least as I'm writing this.

So leave those weekend chores for Sunday. You can even multi-task and pick up some plants on the way there or back. McMinnville is, after all, The Nursery Capital of the Known Universe. Ok, it's settled then. We'll see you Underground. Get your tickets here.
